Chevy Battery Service

Are you a fan of doing your own repairs and battery replacement? Then this guide is for you. While it takes a bit of skill and know-how, it is possible to replace a 2025 Chevy Traverse battery at home if you find satisfaction in doing the work yourself or saving a few dollars on battery replacement. If you’ve been looking to learn how to replace a Chevy Traverse battery, read on.

Get Your Tools Together

If you want to avoid short-circuiting the vehicle and receiving burns on your hand, you’ll want to first make sure that you have insulated tools. Insulated tools have a non-reactive coating around the metal and grip to protect you from electrical currents. Make sure you have a socket wrench with multiple sockets, a wire brush for corrosion removal, gloves, and goggles to ensure the job goes smoothly. Obviously, you’ll also want a replacement 2025 Chevy Traverse battery to put in once you remove the old one.

Prepare Your Vehicle for Battery Replacement

Bring your car to a safe location so that you can work on it. Put the vehicle in park, apply the parking brake, turn the vehicle off, and give it some time for everything to cool properly. The 2025 Chevy Traverse battery is located underneath the front passenger seat’s floorboard (weird, we know), so you’ll need to move the seat forward as much as possible. Next, pull up the carpet and remove the floorboard using your insulated tools. Lastly, pop and prop the hood up and open; this should give you full access to the 2025 Chevy Traverse battery.

Remove the Old Chevy Traverse Battery

Chevy Battery Parts

You should now have complete access to the Chevy Traverse battery, so you’ll want to disconnect it. Start with the black cable first and then, once disconnected, remove the red cable. Be sure to dust off any corrosion that has built up. There will be a bolt that keeps the battery in a retainer tray, so you’ll want to remove that with your tools. Once everything is disconnected, take out the old battery.

Place the New 2025 Chevy Traverse Battery

Follow all of the above steps in reverse in order to replace your Traverse battery. Put the battery in, replace the bolt for the retainer tray, connect the red wire, and then connect the black wire. Once the battery and all parts are secured, try turning on your vehicle to test the battery. If the vehicle doesn’t turn on, start over with the battery replacement steps and try again.

Consider Chevy Traverse Battery Replacement near Belton, MO

While replacing a 2025 Chevy Traverse battery isn’t particularly difficult, its unusual location in the vehicle can make it a bit of a challenge. For inexperienced home mechanics, you’ll have a significantly easier time bringing your Traverse to a local service center for battery replacement. Car battery replacement cost is minimal, all things considered, and will save you plenty of time and the cost of getting the right tools and knowledge to replace your own car battery.
