All About the 2025 Corvette ZR1

The 2025 Corvette ZR1 is on its way, and it’s shaping up to be one of the fastest and most powerful Corvettes ever. Once it’s available, it will come in convertible and coupe versions. If power, performance, and speed interest you, then this may be the ideal sports car for your garage.

2025 Corvette ZR1 Highlights

The ZR1 Engine’s Power & Performance

The Corvette ZR1 features a 5.5-liter, twin-turbocharged DOHC flat-plane crank V8 engine that Chevrolet has dubbed the LT7. It has “Gemini 8” architecture that comes with unique features, such as a larger combustion chamber and a new intake system made for the twin turbochargers.

These and many other new and improved engine features help the LT7 generate a downright scary amount of thrust—it cranks out 1,064 horsepower and 828 pound-feet of torque at peak. That makes the LT7 the most powerful V8 engine ever produced by an American car manufacturer.

Designed for Speed

The ZR1 was created to have as much available speed as possible. That’s why it’s designed to have the most downforce of any Corvette. When the Corvette ZR1 hits top speeds, it has 1,200 pounds of downforce on it. All those forces pressing down on it help generate the ZR1’s speeds and ensures that it maintains plenty of grip and traction on the pavement.

The ZR1’s standard chassis has a sleeker body than its predecessors, which gives it lower drag, along with a small spoiler at the back. It also has the following aerodynamic and cooling changes:

• Flow-through hood: Air enters the ZR1’s front grille and then flows through an intercooler heat exchanger before leaving the hood. This process cools the air to increase the car’s downforce.
• Carbon fiber side profile air ducts: These ducts funnel cool, clean air through them to and into a signature wishbone bezel behind the cabin doors to cool the rear brakes. These ducts are part of an intricate system that doesn’t impact the car’s rear-wheel travel.

These and other changes and improvements keep the car cool to increase its overall speeds.

Return of the Split Window

The split window hasn’t been seen since the C2-generation Corvette, but now it’s back! This design feature has a carbon fiber spine that comes in either the car’s body color or an exposed weave, depending on your preference. The way this spine splits the back window in half is aesthetically pleasing, but it’s also functional because it increases the amount of heat extraction going on in the car’s back end. That function ultimately contributes towards the Corvette ZR1’s focus on speed and performance.

Other New Design Elements

Along with the elements that contribute to speed, the ZR1 also has some design features that are both fun and functional, including the following:

• A fiber roof that reduces mass and lowers the center of gravity for both the ZR1 coupe and convertible.
• Unique aluminum wheel design available in four finishes, including Edge Blue, which is a nod to ZR1’s signature color cue.
• Three new body colors: Competition Yellow, Sebring Orange, and Hysteria Purple.

All these elements make the Corvette ZR1 coupe or convertible more fun and interesting to look at and drive.
